Important Tips When You Bring Home Your New Dog House

  • Place your dog’s house far enough away from fences to prevent escape
  • During summer,  make sure you place the dog house in a shaded area
  • During winter, position the door away from the wind
  • In extreme cold, bring your dog inside to prevent hypothermia
  • Clean any bedding regularly to provide a comfortable environment and to prevent fleas
  • Wood dog houses are cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter
  • Raise the house off the ground for better temperature control, drainage and protection against fleas and other pests

  • Remember, if your Dog or Puppy is not used to a Dog House, get them acquainted with it slowly. Place their favorite toy and/or bed inside.  Also, you can put their favorite treat inside, so they will feel that their new home is a fun place to be.

Another Tip:   you may want to wait to install the Flap Door, if you purchased one.  Our Pup was afraid of it at first, but was fine within a few days.

It may take a few days for them to enjoy it, but the time it takes will be well worth the rewards that you and your Pet  will get from your new Dog House.
